Purpose of the Application

The pallithozhan app (School Companion) is the official education and administrative portal for Balar Malar Tamil School - Parramatta. It is designed to streamline academic progress and school communication, offering tools for digital attendance management, homework tracking, term progress reports, newsletter distribution, and student milestone points.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal details necessary to safely run school classes and manage enrollments:

• Student Details: Names, Date of Birth, Gender, Mainstream School/Grade, and Class Enrollment.
• Parent/Guardian Details: Names, Emails, Phone Numbers, and Volunteer preferences.
• Staff/Volunteer Details: Names, Contact details, Working With Children (WWC) check numbers, verification status, and signature images.
• Academic Logs: Attendance records, homework logs, and term progress grades.

2. How We Use Information

We use the collected information solely for classroom administration, attendance tracking, school communications, issuing academic reports, and student points/book management.

3. Google OAuth Sign-In & Data Scope Usage

The pallithozhan app utilizes Google OAuth Sign-In to allow secure identity verification for parents, teachers, and volunteers. When authenticating, the app requests access to your basic Google profile scope (specifically your email address, full name, and avatar picture URL). This data is used solely to verify your identity, secure your credentials, and map your account to your corresponding profile role (Teacher, Parent, Student) in our portal. We do not access other Google data, nor do we share or sell your information to any third parties.

4. Data Protection & Storage

Your data is securely stored using Firebase Cloud hosting. All information is secured in Google Cloud Firestore with token-based encryption. We do not share, sell, or rent your personal information to third parties.
